WILL 121: Week 1

What is your opinion on how the concept of "playing to win" fits in with the notion that you should have fun while playing games?

The purpose of playing a game is to have fun while still trying to win to the best of your abilities. Winning is more fun than losing so it's only natural that "playing to win" is intertwined with winning.

Do you think it's compatible?

Yes, "playing to win" is still enjoyable and offers a different sense of satisfaction than "playing for fun."

Have you encountered a "scrub" at any time in your life? (Scrub mentality is not just limited to games!)

Yea this kid that goes by Ivan....
But seriously, I have encountered MANY scrubs. Though, I prefer to call them "casuals." It's less derogatory and fits the same definition.
I have played many games that contain a competitive and a casual aspect ranging from WoW, Pokemon, DotA, Smash, etc. Anyway, I have encountered a "scrub" player in all of these. Casuals are usually perfectly content playing the game the way they do and the same goes for competitive players.
